The International Meat Trade Association represents more than 60 importers, exporters and wholesalers as well as associate members from relevant sectors including shipping, freight forwarding, ports, levy boards and cold storage.

IMTA represents the membership at meetings with the European Commission and is an active member of UECBV (European Livestock and Meat Trading Union). IMTA has regular meetings with DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), The RPA (Rural Payments Agency) and The FSA (Food Standards Agency) as well as holding forums, seminars and visits for members.

Red Tractor

Red Tractor was established in 2000 and has grown to become the UK’s biggest farm and food standards scheme, covering all of animal welfare, food safety, traceability and environmental protection.

We are a small, not for profit company, run by the food industry to promote clearer labelling and ensure food originates from a trustworthy source.

The way that our food is farmed and prepared is regularly checked by independent experts to make sure it is of a good standard.
